Kenny came from Hong Kong and graduated in Norwich in 1982. After his degree, he gained experience in the construction industry in the UK, Hong Kong & the Far East for over 10 years. At the end of this period, he completed the Law Society Common Professional Examination with the University of Hong Kong and Manchester Polytechnic.
In 1992 Kenny returned to England and took the Law Society Final then remained in Newcastle to practice law.
Kenny is also interested in education. He taught Law in East Durham Community College from 1993 to 1999 and was commissioned by Cavandish Legal Publishing to write their GCSE Law for its “Essential Book Series”. The book was published in August 2000.
From 1998 up to 2010, Kenny acted as a consultant and delivered seminars and consultancy work for local Business Link and the Business Innovation Centre of Sunderland to their business start-up clients.
Kenny holds a wide range of experience in various aspects of law, but now mainly concentrate on commercial and residential properties.
